PROFILE

Crystal Mover Services, Inc. (CMSI) is a dedicated and highly specialized Operations and Maintenance (O&M) organization established by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Inc. (MHIA) and Sumitomo Corporation (SC)/Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (SCOA) on January, 2009.

CMSI was established to seamlessly, reliably, and successfully support the O&M needs of the Crystal Mover Automated People Mover (APM) manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and installed in the United States of America. The Headquarters is located in Miami, with branches in GA, VA and FL.

System service availability and safety are critical aspects of any APM project that cannot be overemphasized. Unexpected system downtime and safety incidents can irreparably damage the reputation of the system owner and negatively impact system ridership levels.
In order to deliver consistent, dependable, and on-time service, an APM system must be operated and maintained with the strictest attention to detail and with intrinsic knowledge of the end product and its various applications. This type of knowledge can only be derived from years of experience successfully implementing, operating, and maintaining these systems. Therefore, the roll of CMSI is extremely important.

MHI's proven, international experience spans a combined history of several decades and includes major APM projects for Miami International Airport (two separate systems), Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, Orland International Airport (three separate systems), Tampa International Airport Hong Kong International Airport (Hong Kong), Changi International Airport (Singapore), Dubai International Airport (UAE), Incheon International Airport (South Korea) and several urban and inter-urban advanced transit systems, worldwide.

As individual companies, MHI and SC represent some of the largest companies in Japan and some of the oldest and most reputable in their respective fields. The combined strengths and resources of MHI and SC help to support CMSI as an organization allowing CMSI to exceed its customers' expectations in adding value to the APM market.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' (MHI) storied history begins in 1870, when the company was first established as a trading business by the Iwasaki family. MHI continued its development and began its shipbuilding business in 1884 at Nagasaki Shipyard and Machinery Works. Since that time, the company has evolved into the oldest and by far the largest integrated industrial manufacturer in Japan and one of the cornerstones of the Mitsubishi Group, Japan's biggest industrial group.

With annual sales of over 40 billion dollars, MHI is recognized worldwide for engineering and manufacturing a wide range of products - from advanced transit systems to power systems equipment, marine vessels, aerospace equipment, and various heavy machinery and structural engineering products. In the United States, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) manages MHI's operations from its headquarters office in Houston, Texas.

As one of Japan's largest integrated trading and investment business enterprises, Sumitomo Corporation provides further strength, balance, and stability to the CMSI partnership. Sumitomo's history stretches back almost four decades, and its founding principles emphasize integrity and sound management. One of the important business foundations of Sumitomo is its vast global network comprising approximately 150 offices and almost 800 consolidated subsidiaries and associated companies worldwide.

Sumitomo is actively engaged in a diverse array of industries, and its customers and suppliers are some of the largest and most influential companies in the world. Sumitomo provides expertise to its clients in support of a complete range of products and services, including ground transportation systems, aerospace systems, steel structures, shipbuilding, steam and gas turbine power systems, industrial machinery, and process control systems.
Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (SCOA) is the largest wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation. For more than 20 years, SCOA has been a Prime Contractor in the North American rail transit industry.

SCOA has developed, managed and delivered major transportation projects for Owners such as New York City Transit (New York), Metra (Chicago), Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA, Los Angeles), Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD), the State of Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), and Virginia Railway Express (VRE).

As an organization, CMSI effectively builds upon the history of successful strategic collaboration between the aforementioned companies, combining the resources and experience of three of the most respected names in the transit vehicle manufacturing, implementation, operations, and maintenance field. This invaluable expertise is backed by a proven system service reliability record that is virtually unparalleled in the industry.
